Sure the apricot blossom is spectacular, but just the beginning of a month of florescence of all the fruit-bearing trees. Peach trees in the vineyards, apples east of Krems, pears in the Mostviertel (southwest of the Wachau), wild cherries in the Dunkelsteinerwald, plums right here in Mautern and many more trees are in bloom in April.
