With over 150 hand-drawn images and animation cels from the first thirteen seasons—after which the TV series was produced entirely digitally—the exhibition will showcase the adventures and pranks of the Simpson family. The couch gags are integral to the opening sequences of the series: Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie appear as skeletons, with pacifiers in their mouths, or in miniature on the sofa. Cartoons about the three-eyed fish Blinky or Homer’s dream about toilets bring a smile to your face. Also featured are cartoons with Mr. Burns, Homer’s boss and owner of the city’s nuclear power plant, Bart’s best friend Milhouse, as well as other well-known characters from the fictional small town of Springfield.
Storyboards and sketches offer a thrilling glimpse of the characters as well as the art and process of animation. Fun facts and photo spots ensure a unique Simpsons experience at the Karikaturmuseum Krems, beginning July 13th.
